  1. Dec 02,  · Catalog number SE appears on the vinyl labels. Manufactured by MGM Records Division; Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Inc., Avenue of the Americas, New York, N.Y. Compare with the similar west coast version here: Ultimate Spinach - Ultimate Spinach/5().
  2. View credits, reviews, tracks and shop for the Vinyl release of Ultimate Spinach on Discogs. Label: MGM Records - SE • Format: Vinyl LP, Album • Country: Canada • Genre: Rock • Style: Psychedelic Rock4/5(2).
  3. In my humble opinion, "Ultimate Spinach III" is perhaps the most under-rated rock album ever produced. Virtually every song is excellent. For a "pick-up band" recruited to produce a third album, they did a superb job. My biggest disappointment is that the best song on the album, "Sincere", is apparently missing from the CD/5(32).
  4. The unique blend ofpsych, jazz, rock, Gregorian vocals and Baroque instrumentation sets Ultimate Spinach apart from anything released at the time. It includes the now famous (Ballad of the) Hip Death Goddess, an classic featuring the eerie, haunting vocals of Barbara Hudson /5(47).

  6. Ultimate Spinach, an Album by Ultimate Spinach. Released 6 January on MGM (catalog no. SE ; Vinyl LP). Genres: Psychedelic Rock. Featured peformers: Alan Lorber (producer).
  7. It was legendary record producer Alan Lorber that came up with the concept of ''The Bosstown Sound'' - "The Sound Heard 'Round The World" to market and promote the best and brightest of the Bean Town sixties psychedelic scene. (Boston's key groups at the time included Orpheus, Beacon Street Union, Ultimate Spinach, Chamaeleon Church and others).
  8. The Ultimate Spinach, arguably the finest of them all, produced magnificent examples of surreal psychedelic record-making, now prized by crate-diggers and outsider music fans alike. The Spinach's self-titled debut album is now considered a psychedelic classic, but it's the group's second record, Behold and See, that is perhaps their finest achievement.
